Margaret Blake portrait

I began writing from a young age, however it was not until my husband, John, persuaded me to do something about it, that I set about writing seriously.

A love of history drew me to writing historical romances, the first of which A Sprig of Broom was published in 1979. A further five historical romances followed, and then, under my Grandmother’s name, Ellen Noone, I published five contemporary romances.

Having missed out on further education, I spent four years in higher education and spent a further ten years working as a Lecturer and Teacher.

I especially loved teaching ‘mature students’ people like myself who had for various reasons, not been able to continue their education.

After retirement and a long trip around Australia and New Zealand – in part backpacking – I once again took up my pen. Returning to one of my favourite themes, righting the wrongs done to the name of King Richard Third by Tudor propagandists, I wrote Seed of the Broom, which was published in e-book format.

I have written three new romances for publication through Whiskey Creek Press. The first, Fortune’s Folly was published in August 2006. Eden's Child and Beloved Deceiver were published in 2007.

2008 sees me returning to my very first publisher Robert Hale Limited. A new venture too in that the two novels they have accepted are romantic suspense. The first Breaking the Clouds will be out in June 2008. Date of publication for “A Poisoned Legacy” not yet available.

Breaking the Clouds is set in New Zealand and tells the story of Bron who is cheated and betrayed by her husband. Can she trust the enigmatic Job Tepi or does he know more than he admits? Add to the mix the beautiful but strange Marged and you have an exciting mix of romance and suspense.

A Poisoned Legacy has a Florida setting, more details later.

With three novels on the block at Whiskey Creek Press and a new contract signed with Wings Press for my twentieth novel, life is pretty sweet at the moment.
